EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING >>

  • Sigma Pi University: Sigma Pi University is a special three-day summer program held at Vanderbilt University, which was initiated in 1999 and has been held in every subsequent odd-numbered year. Unlike the Midyear Leadership Conference, its attendance is open to all interested undergraduates (brothers and pledges) as well as alumni. Educational opportunities are greatly expanded, delving into several topics at the forefront of Greek life today: Leadership, Recruitment, Public Relations, Philanthropy, Membership Education, Financial Management and Risk Management.

SPU also provides a venue for the informal exchange of successful ideas and activities among the chapter representatives and alumni volunteers. Attendees of this conference have consistently praised its value in helping understand what is necessary to be successful on campus and in the community.

  • Mid-Year Leadership Conference: Held in St. Louis, MO every year, no Program in recent years has had as positive an effect on chapter management than the Mid-year Leadership Conference, which is held each February. At the two-day event, the Grand Chapter brings together newly elected presidents, vice presidents, treasurers, chapter/colony directors, and province archons for a series of operational training sessions.

How successful is this conference? Survey results of conference attendees show that a full 100 percent of undergraduate leaders said it is worth continuing. Delegates offered such comments as, "Sigma Pi is the best organization I've ever been a part of, and I thank those before me who made it what it is today," and "One more positive experience to put in the books! Thank you alumni for donating the money that allowed this event to happen."

Sigma Pi, through the support of alumni, has been able to provide funding which covers the housing and meal costs associated with the conference.

  • Province Workshops: Province workshops bring undergraduates (from both colonies and chapters) and alumni volunteers together within a specific geographic region of the country to focus on a variety of topics. Subjects range from recruitment, risk management, alumni relations to ideas for a successful brotherhood event. Workshops are a great way to network with other brothers in your area and enjoy the Sigma Pi experience with other brothers in the same area.
